A Week in the Life of VBS
“A Week in the Life of VBS” celebrates the life, spirit and personality of the Valley Beth Shalom synagogue located in Encino, California. Together, the community created a visual testimony of the character, energy and creativity of VBS. Everyone in the congregation was invited to photograph moments that tell the story of the vibrancy and diversity of VBS. These artistic efforts culminated with an exhibition, mounted on the walls of the main lobby and second floor and running on seven monitors, turning the synagogue hallways into a gallery space filled with hundreds of photos.
A Community Celebration officially kicked off the gallery opening, acknowledging and honoring President Norman Levine and Immediate Past President Irv Weintraub along with world-renown master photographer of Jewish life and artist-in-residence, Bill Aron. Docent tours are available. The exhibit runs May 17, 2014 through the High Holiday Season, Fall 2014.
I am happy to announce that four of my photographs were accepted into this juried show.
